The Río Conchos flows through the northern Mexico state of Chihuahua to join the Río Grande/Río Bravo just above Big Bend National Park. Recently, management of this river has been at the center of a water allocation dispute between the U.S. and Mexico.
To explore and better understand the challenges in the Río Conchos basin, the Texas Center for Policy Studies, in partnership with other U.S. and Mexican organizations, sponsored a binational conference on the Río Conchos. The conference was held in Cd. Chihuahua, Mexico in May 2002.
