Border Institution Watch

One of the central goals of the Border Trade & Environment Project is to monitor the new institutions created in legislation parallel to the North American Free Trade Agreement, as well as progress made by the U.S. and Mexican governments on binational environmental issues through the Border XXI Plan. These institutions include the North American Development Bank (NADBank) and the Border Environment Cooperation Commission (BECC), as well as the trilateral Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC), formed as a result of the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation. Border Institution Watch provides periodic reviews of BECC, NADBANK and CEC meetings and projects, and posts comments on proposed rules and projects. Those who attend such meetings are also welcome to contact us  with their own opinions for possible inclusion here. Those interested in these issues may also want to join e-mail listserves such as CECNET and BECCNET. Contact the Udall Center for Public Policy for details on how to join these listserves.
